Registration Information for 2013

Fiddle & Dance is now accepting deposits for our 2013 Ashokan Camps. If the camp you register for is full when we receive your registration, you'll be placed on a waiting list. Applicants are applied in order of their postmark date (if paid by check) or payment date (if paid online, or by phone). When a week fills, we start a waiting list. See Waiting Lists below or click on Waiting List Policy for more information.

Ashokan Dates and Fees for 2013 - a limited number of private rooms are available.
  • Western & Swing Week - June 23–29 - $895 per person (bunk or camping), $745 (offsite lodging), $35 discount for each year under 25
  • Ashokan Uke Fest - July 4–7 - $475 per person (bunk or camping), $400 (offsite lodging), $395 (ages 5-18), under 5 free
  • Northern Week - July 14–20 - $895 per person (bunk or camping), $745 (offsite lodging), $25 discount for each year under 25
  • Ashokan Guitar Camp - July 28 - August 1- $675 per person (bunk or camping), $575 (offsite lodging)
  • Southern Week - August 11–17 - $895 per person (bunk or camping), $745 (offsite lodging)
  • New Years at Ashokan - Dec. 29–Jan. 1 - Fees TBD

* Work Scholarship discounts are available at all camps (see below)
* Youth and Children's fees are available at all of our programs. See individual programs and their registration pages for details.

Payment

You can pay the full fee when you register, or a deposit of $150 per person will hold your space until the full balance is due 45 days before each summer camp begins (Dec. 1st for New Years at Ashokan). You can register and pay online, by phone OR fill out our online form, print it and mail it with your check.

There are no summer cancelation fees until January 1. New Years at Ashokan cancelation fees begin on December 1.

Staff for next summer will be announced in the Fiddle & Dance News and here on our website in February or March. Our New Years at Ashokan staff is usually announced in early fall.

  • December - We count and sort applicants for each week and hold a lottery if needed.
  • January - We deposit checks and mail receipt letters to applicants. There are no cancelation fees (see below) until January 1.
  • February (or sooner) - Our summer staff is announced in our summer flyer, in the Fiddle & Dance News and here on the web site.

Waiting Lists

If an event is full when we receive your registration, you'll be placed on a waiting list. Your waiting list number is determined by the date of your registration (postmark date for postal applicants), so it makes sense to register as soon as you can.

Many people get in from our waiting lists, but there's no way to be sure if and when a space may open up for you. If a space opens up, we'll contact you to make sure you're still able to attend. If not, you're entitled to a full refund . You're also entitled to a full refund if you're wait-listed and don't get in, or if you decide to drop off the waiting list at any time. Another option is to roll-over your deposit for guaranteed admission the following year. See our Waiting List Policy for more information.

Summer Cancelation Fees:

  • $35 per person from January 1 'til 45 days before the week begins.
  • $150 per person from 44 to 15 days before the week begins.
  • $250 per person from 14 days to 1 day before the week begins.
  • No refunds thereafter.

New Years at Ashokan Cancelation Fees:

  • $35 per person until December 1.
  • $75 per person until December 14.
  • $100 per person until December 30.
  • $150 per person after December 30.

Work Scholarships:

A limited number of partial work scholarships are available. Requests are filed in order of postmark and processed in January. We need your deposit to confirm a scholarship. If no scholarships remain, or if upon getting the details you decide not to accept, you may cancel immediately for a full refund. However, if you choose to remain registered, you are subject to our regular cancelation fees. See our Work Scholarships page for more information.
