1st Annual ASHOKAN CIVIL WAR DAYS / May 22–24
An exciting new event at Ashokan celebrating the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth featuring a Civil War encampment at Ashokan's historic farmstead with Cavalry and skirmishers, a speech by an A. Lincoln impersonator, a John Burroughs walk through Ashokan's wonderful woodland trails to the 1830s homestead, a concert celebrating Lincoln's legacy with Kim & Reggie Harris, Jay & Molly and the 77th Regimental Balladeers, a Civil War Ball called by Eric Hollman with music by Spare Parts, a Relief Fair, daytime workshops and lots more. $10 day, $15 evening concert. CLEARWATER'S GREAT HUDSON RIVER REVIVAL / Sat–Sun, June 20–21
The Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival returns to its original site at Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson, NY, celebratinng the 40th anniversary of the launch of the sloop Clearwater and the 90th birthday of legendary folksinger & Clearwater founder, Pete Seeger! Enjoy music, storytelling, dancing, juried crafts and sailing the Hudson on the historic Sloop Clearwater. Five stages including a fully tented dance stage with expanded dance floor. 29th Annual OLD SONGS FESTIVAL / Fri–Sun, June 26–28
Old Songs, at the Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont, NY (10 mi. west of Albany), features a wide range of Folk, Traditional, Celtic and World Music & Dance; 120 daytime worshops by performers; instrument vendors; a creative play area for kids. An all-star lineup includes: PEGGY SEEGER, JOHN ROBERTS & TONY BARRAND, GROOVEMAMA, JEZ LOWE, JOSH WHITE JR, CHRISTINE LAVIN, DOUBLE DECKER STRING BAND, REVEILLONS!, BUA, BILL SPENCE, PETER & MARY ALICE AMIDON, LOUIS KILLEN, GALITCHA, GEORGE WARD, PAUL ROSENBERG, STEVE ZAKON-ANDERSON, THE FLYING GARBANZOS & more!
