ASHOKAN'S MAPLE FEST and MAPLE MARDI GRAS / Sat, Mar 5
MAPLE FEST 11am-5pm features a seasonal concert by Jay & Molly plus living history and hands-on experiences including: tree tapping, taste testing, tinsmithing, blacksmithing and broom making, an 1817 schoolhouse and Naturalist-led hikes through Ashokan's spectacular Cathedral Gorge. Take home fresh Ashokan syrup. Adm. only $5, $3 kids under 10, under 5 free.
MAPLE MARDI GRAS 4pm-11pm a new event mixing Catskill, Quebecois and Cajun traditions. Join local musicians for a Quebcois Jam from 4-6pm. Then enjoy gumbo, chilled maple sap and more starting at 6pm, followed by a Cajun dance lesson with Buffy Lewis and Cajun dancing at 8pm to the music of Cleoma's Ghost with Jay & Molly, Tim Kness and Ambrose Verdibello!
